James Eustace is an experienced and well-established Newmarket trainer who has proved that he can win at a high level.
Since taking out a trainersí licence in 1989, he has saddled numerous winners and tasted success at both Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood. More recently successes in Group races in France, Germany and Dubai have followed.
James began his career working for Mark Tompkins in 1979. After four informative years as Tompkins right-hand man, he moved to America where he gained further knowledge by assisting John Sullivanís California operation. On his return to the UK, James assisted William Jarvis for four years.
He set up at Park Lodge and in his first full season soon began to make a name for himself with Penny Mint as the stableís flag-bearer. Then a juvenile, Penny Mint ran a string of fine races, capping her campaign with a thrilling victory in the Colmanís of Norwich Nursery, which was the richest two-year-old handicap at the time.
