The people behind the operation.

Mrs. Lucy Lawson
Syndicate Manager

Lucy Lawson has been running syndicates on a small scale for the past 15 years. She spent 10 years as a trainers secretary to one of the leading Newmarket trainers and for the past 3 years has been involved in the racing accounts dept for one of the leading arab owners. She has got a wide knowledge of the racing industry and really enjoys every aspect of syndicate management. She teamed up with James Eustace to start Blue Peter Racing 7 years ago and it has been a highly successful syndicate.

Mr. James Eustace
Trainer

James Eustace is an experienced and well-established Newmarket trainer who has proved that he can win at a high level.

Since taking out a trainers’ licence in 1989, he has saddled numerous winners and tasted success at both Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood.

James began his career working for Mark Tompkins in 1979. After four informative years as Tompkins right-hand man, he moved to America where he gained further knowledge by assisting John Sullivan’s California operation.

He set up at Park Lodge and in his first full season soon began to make a name for himself with Penny Mint as the stable’s flag-bearer. Then a juvenile, Penny Mint ran a string of fine races, capping her campaign with a thrilling victory in the Colman’s of Norwich Nursery, which was the richest two-year-old handicap at the time.

Mrs. Gay Eustace
Social Coordinator

Gay Eustace, James’s wife, is an important team member at Park Lodge Stables as she handles all the secretarial duties as well as being an extremely efficient trainer’s wife. Gay is always on hand to look after owners when they come to the yard and often comes to the races too. Blue Peter Racing has been very well catered for on several occasions by Gay. Everyone always enjoys the ‘Car Park’ parties before or after racing.
